Fr. Tom's Ministry at Resurrection:
A Heartfelt Farewell
As Fr. Tom's tenure at Resurrection comes to an end, we reflect on the time as a period of profound spiritual growth and community building. His unwavering commitment to the parish has been a beacon of hope and inspiration for many. Through his thoughtful homilies, compassionate pastoral care, and dedicated leadership, Fr. Tom has significantly impacted the lives of the Resurrection Parish Family.
His ability to connect with people on a personal level and address their spiritual needs has fostered a strong sense of unity and faith within the community. Fr. Tom has truly embodied the message of "loving all God's people all the time." His fun-loving nature has brought joy to countless parish events. Whether he was sharing a laugh with the children during Sunday donuts or offering a comforting word to someone in need, Fr. Tom's presence was always uplifting and reassuring.
Fr. Tom's leadership was particularly evident during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. He navigated Resurrection through this unprecedented period with grace and determination, ensuring that the spiritual needs of the community were met despite the physical distance. His innovative approach and acceptance of creative ideas to maintain our parish community ties will never be forgotten. When livestreaming Mass began, he made it clear that we would never end going live. This commitment to an online presence as touched countless lives. Many will remember the drive-through blessings and socially distanced outdoor Mass with Fr. Tom, which provided much-needed comfort and a sense of normalcy during a difficult time.
His beloved dog Ruby often accompanied him, bringing joy and comfort to parishioners, especially on visits to our homebound parishioners. We've seen Ruby grown from a brand-new puppy to the mascot of Resurrection. More times than not, after Fr. Tom was warmly greeted by someone, they quickly would ask how Ruby was. Resurrection truly was Ruby's domain.
As Fr. Tom prepares to embark on a new chapter at St. Patrick's Parish in Menasha, the community at Resurrection wishes him all the best. His new parish is sure to benefit from his wisdom, kindness, and spiritual guidance. The transition marks an exciting opportunity for Fr. Tom to continue his ministry and touch even more lives with his compassionate approach.
The legacy Fr. Tom leaves behind at Resurrection will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His contributions have left an indelible mark on the parish, and his departure is met with both gratitude and a sense of loss. The community hopes to stay connected with Fr. Tom and looks forward to hearing about the wonderful work he will continue to do. As he moves forward, the prayers and best wishes of the Resurrection community go with him, trusting that God will bless him abundantly in his new appointment.

VIRTUALLY SUNDAY REFLECTION
'What are you doing?' and 'Why?' These are important questions to ask ourselves, especially when interacting with others. When these are asked of Whatsoever You Do's StreetLights ministry, the answer is based on faith, not rationality. The best things in life are not always rational and true belief in love, joy, and peace must come from a place of faith rather than empirical evidence. Join Steve as he reflects on this weekend's scripture readings.
