Mary Magdalene: A Witness of Love and Transformation
Mary Magdalene is one of the most inspiring women in the Bible, known for her deep love for Jesus and her powerful transformation. Once burdened by seven demons, she experienced healing and freedom through Christ. Her story reminds families that no one is beyond God’s mercy, and that healing and new life are always possible. Mary’s journey shows that when we encounter Jesus, our lives can be completely changed.
She was one of Jesus’ most faithful followers, standing by Him even at the foot of the Cross when many others had fled. Her courage and loyalty are a beautiful example for families today—especially in times of hardship or uncertainty. Mary Magdalene teaches us that love means staying close to Jesus, even when it’s difficult. Her presence at the Crucifixion and her care for Jesus’ body after His death show a heart full of devotion and compassion.
The Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene is celebrated on July 22 in the Catholic Church. In 2016, Pope Francis elevated her memorial to a full feast day, recognizing her as the “Apostle to the Apostles” The day is marked with special Mass readings that highlight her encounter with the risen Christ (John 20:1–18). In some communities, the feast is celebrated with processions, folk dances, and acts of charity. For families, it’s a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the power of forgiveness, the importance of sharing the Good News, and the dignity of every person’s calling in the Church.
ADINGS FOR THIS WEEKEND’S MASSES
VIRTUALLY SUNDAY REFLECTION
What is your definition of hospitality? It's essence is being present to one another and strengthening relationships through companionship and connection. Today, just as it was for Martha and Mary, we must prioritize relationships over tasks and the divine presence that can be found in our interactions with one another. Can we recognize Christ in each other and the sacred communion that binds us together as a community? Join Fr. Tim as he reflects on this weekend's scripture readings.

Auditio Divina
Katie and Tony are back in the studio, praying with "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel
Lyrics:
Love, I don't like to see so much pain
So much wasted and this moment
Keeps slipping away
I get so tired working
So hard for our survival
I look to the time with you
To keep me awake and alive
And all my instincts they return
And the grand façade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside
In your eyes (Your eyes)
(Your eyes) In your eyes
(In your eyes) The light, the heat
(Your eyes) I am complete
(In your eyes) I see the doorway
To a thousand churches
In your eyes) The resolution
(Your eyes) Of all the fruitless searches
Oh, I see the light and the heat
(In your eyes)
(Your eyes) Oh, I wanna be that complete
(In your eyes)
I wanna touch the light
The heat I see in your eyes
In your eyes(In your eyes)
(In your eyes) Ooh
