Merry Christmas, Resurrection!

This Epiphany Sunday & 12th Day of Christmas, my prayers continue, that the Christmas Days are full with the blessings of deepened Faith, Family, Friendship!

For me, time with Dad & Rennes, and with my sister and brother-in-law, Deb & Bill, and their grand-daughters, Grace and Mikalya was a real treat on December 26th. Their Mom, Nicole, is alive for us in them! Praise God!

This, my first Christmas with you at Resurrection, was beautiful and prayerful, warm and very joyful. Thank you so much!

We celebrated 4 Christmas Masses, and welcomed 2,400 persons – about 50% of our membership, and twice the average “Sunday Crowd” - to celebrate in Word & Sacrament, the Word of God Become Flesh (John1:14).

One usher quipped: “Wouldn’t this be great every weekend, Father Tim?”

“Yes indeed!”

Another observed: “This would be a lot to handle every weekend!”

“Yes, but that will be a good problem to have – right?!”

And since it’s Epiphany- the day of the 3 Kings’ gifts – may I say “thank you” to all who have wished me well, offered prayers for me & my family, ‘treats’, hospitality, beautiful cards, warm wishes, encouragement, honest feedback and generous kindness.  I am very grateful.  And since I couldn’t do it on my monthly allowance, for the most part, I was glad to redirect your generosity to me, either to St. John’s Homeless Shelter or Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in Chicago. Merry Christmas!

 “God bless us…EVERY one”!
