Fr. Tim's Letter - June 10, 2018

Hello,

People of the Resurrection...

Getting ready on Monday night for the “Pastor’s Remarks” at Tuesday’s Annual Parish Meeting, 2 days of Norbertine Chapter Meetings, and eager for summer to get here, may I please follow up from last weekend’s remarks?

Prayer to the Holy Spirit.png

While I was at the meetings of the Presbyteral (Priests’) Council and the College of Consultors, of which I am an appointed member, we were reminded of the 150th Jubilee Prayer to the Holy Spirit – that it be used regularly in parishes at weekend Masses throughout Ordinary Time.  Having made such regular use of the “Stewardship Prayer” here at Resurrection this request of Bishop Ricken’s ‘fell through the cracks’ for me. Yikes!?!

But reading it, praying it, I really like that Bishop Ricken anchors every specific vocation in our Baptismal Call and Vocation! In Baptism we were anointed with the Holy Spirit – making us “Priests, Prophets and members of a Royal People of God”.

So I’ll be looking for ways to give this prayer additional usage here at Resurrection.  Perhaps this copy can find its way into your Bible as a bookmark, or on your refrigerator door or bathroom mirror? We’ll use it at Mass too!

Living Baptism - every day - and responding to the specifics of its Call...as God desires...

“God bless us...EVERY one”!
