Fr. Tim's Letter - March 18, 2018

Hello,

People of the Resurrection...

Another Monday night/bulletin writing session…becoming a pattern perhaps?

I’ve got 4 things this week, please?

We remember and rejoice with Pope Francis as he marks on Monday, the 5th anniversary of his inauguration as Bishop of Rome, and Pope! He blesses us, challenges us mightily; reveals Jesus to us…and our humanity, joy and integrity, too! Let’s thank God for him and, as he always asks -“remember to pray for him”.

The 24-Hour Marathon of Mercy was a blessing last weekend! 94 persons came to confession; others came to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament. Some short visits; some going almost an hour! All very good, very beautiful! A humbling & inspiring ministry! Thanks to Fr. Dan Felton & Fr. Luke Ferris for their help!

Along with a wonderful response to the Sacrament of Healing at the 4pm Mass and a full bus for the Stations Pilgrimage on Sunday, it was a powerful weekend here at Resurrection! Praise God!

Thirdly, the Community of St. Norbert Abbey elects a new abbot on April 4th. We have our final ‘discernment day’ on Tuesday, this week. Please pray with us, and for us…for the one elected, but more so, that the whole Community will go ahead together – every man contributing as he can, to the life and ministry of the abbey! Of course, we pray for you as well!

Lastly, keeping an eye on the absent members, and folks without a ‘church home’, we will add a “Sunrise Mass” on Easter Morning here at Resurrection .

Starting inside for the Liturgy of the Word, renewing our Baptismal Vows at the font, and moving outside for the Liturgy of the Eucharist, this Mass
begins at 5:45am!

It will be very simple; bring a lawn chair if you want; or a blanket.  If you want to help, see me!

Grateful for the blessing of ‘many rings in our circus’, and many other signs of new life in Christ these Lenten weeks, we pray…

“God bless us...EVERY one”!
