Dear Parishioners,

I’m taking your advice!  Over and over again you have thanked me for my ministry here at Resurrection and then said “Don’t work so hard.” “Take time off.”  “You spend too much time here.”

So as of this summer, I’ll be changing from my full time position as Pastoral Associate/Family Life Director to a very part-time Care Minister Coordinator.  The details are being worked out and will be shared with you very soon.  How other positions on the staff will be changing is still being defined.  So while you will still see me around it will be much less.

Resurrection has been the community that welcomed me over 25 years ago.  I’ve been part of many significant changes here, made wonderful and enduring friends, walked with so many of you during joyful and painful times and everything in between.  I treasure all those experiences that allowed me to be your companion at such sacred moments in your lives. In my new role as Care Minister Coordinator I’ll be able to continue to do much of that.  But my involvement and
facilitation of the gazillion other activities at this thriving parish will be significantly
reduced.

The first line of the prayer of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross seems fitting at this time.  “God is here in these moments and can give us in a single instant exactly what we need.”  God has done just that for me throughout my life and especially here at Resurrection Parish.  I have full confidence that God will continue to be here with you and with me as we continue to be disciples of Jesus and stewards of God’s gifts.

With love and gratitude,

Sheila De Luca
Pastoral Associate/Family Life Director
