Our Lady of Sorrows

Mary was a martyr,

her heart and soul pierced with a sword.

We call her: Mother of Sorrows.

Mary was a saint,

her heart and soul overflowing with love.

We call her: Mother of Joy.

Sorrow and Joy filled her life,

desolation and consolation,

suffering and rejoicing.

Mary remains our mother and model,

guiding us through the cross into God’s glory.
