“Saint of the Darkness”

Dark are the feelings of being unloved,

abandoned, lonely, filled with self-doubt.

Not just are the nights dark, but days as well.

Despite severe emotional distress,

Mother Teresa continued serving,

continued the healing ministry of Jesus.

For her it had to be that way,

for how could she be filled with consolation

when those she served were desperate,

continuously struggling with desolation?

So she embraced the darkness

knowing, deep down inside,

that Jesus too was with her,

inviting her to share in his darkness.
